When Jani Suraksha Yojana was implemented in Gujarat

As you all know, through Jani Suraksha Yojana, free medicines, food, free treatment etc. are provided to pregnant women. Apart from this free nutrition is provided for 3 days in case of normal delivery and 7 days in case of C-section.

This scheme has now been implemented in Gujarat as well. The PGI administration has issued written orders to implement the scheme on June 23. After which free medical services will be provided to registered pregnant women and newborns up to 1 month after delivery in all institutions.

Under this scheme, regular checkup facility is provided to pregnant women. Besides, all services from delivery till home are provided free of charge. Newborns are also provided free treatment up to 1 month after birth.

Features of Jani Sankarsha Yojana

JSY is implemented in all states and union territories, but the main target is to develop low performing states like Gujarat, Lakshya Bihar, Orissa, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, MP, UP, J&K, Chhattisgarh etc.

Every beneficiary enrolled under the scheme must have an MCH card as well as a Jani Suraksha Yojana card.

Jani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a 100% centrally sponsored scheme and integrates cash assistance.

The scheme has recognized ASHA as an accredited social health worker.

Pregnant women who give birth at home with the help of Anganwadi or Asha doctors. These candidates will get an amount of Rs.500.

Immunization information is sent to the mother-child for five years after the free delivery of the child and free immunization is given.

All women enrolled under the Jani Suraksha Yojana 2023 will be given at least two antenatal check-ups, which are absolutely free. Apart from this, Asha and Anganwadi workers will also assist them in the post-delivery period with related services.

First, visit JSY @ nhm.gov.in through the link below.
You will be redirected to the official portal of National Health Mission.
From the home page, click on JSY located on the menu.
Select Apply Online button.
Click on Download Application Form Online PDF option.
The application form will be downloaded to your device.
Open the application form.
Take a print out of the application form.
Fill all the details asked in the application form like name, mobile number, address, state and etc.
Pin the required certificates and documents in the application form.
Now take the application form and submit it to Mako Anganwadi or Women’s Health Care Centre.
